Change Team:
Umpire test time......
by posted 04/01/2020

We still need almost 40 of the umpires to take the test--- please do your best.  The weather outside is amazing & we understand.  Just would like many of you to finish before online learning starts on Monday...Thanks !

Given that Kings will start online learning on Monday, we wanted to make sure, just this year, that everyone has time to take the required 2020 umpire test.  The instructions and links are below.  The test will give a grade upon completion.

Please take, review your answers (take again if necessary) and report your score to me at Bnzs2@usa.net by next Thursday day night, April 9.  As for the season, it all depends on the President, Ohio Governor, the city and district boards as well as Kings board.  Please be aware:   Knothole not only wants to play, but has been discussing playing the season into mid July.

Here we go, good luck !!!

Testing will be conducted online this year.  A score of 70% or higher will be needed to pass the test.  Re-takes are permitted.

  • New umpires ages 12 and 13 will take the D test and will only be eligible to umpire D, T-Ball and Little League Coach Pitch Games.
  • New umpires ages 14 to 20 will take the C and Up test and will be eligible for D games and the C and higher games (umpires must be 2 years older than the age level they are umping).
  • Returning umpires 13 thru 20 should take the C and Up test.

Please complete first attempt by end of day Thursday, April 9.

D34, Rule 31b: To be a certified umpire, an individual must attend the umpire school held prior to the season and pass the umpire test. Exception: Adults (21 and older) can attend a single rules interpretation meeting to be certified. This exception also applies to veteran umpires under 21 (but they are still required to take the test).

Veteran  Umpires: KYBS considers you as a veteran umpire after your THIRD year of umpiring.

Returning UMPIRES: KYBS encourages the returning umpires to attend the training and positioning. By rule 31.b VETERAN Umpires need to attend one of the three classes and take the test. Attending Positioning is again encouraged for all the returning umps
